Been going to Gillian Institute since 2010! That’s 16 years. Love the friendly staff! Love the services! Love PSBM! And of course Dr. Short is an amazing aesthetics plastic surgeon who never ceases to amaze with her art work in plastics! Last, but not least, Danette! Best aesthetician ever! Takes her time to discuss your concerns and options to treat them! Very meticulous and doesn’t rush through the service. Very comforting and yeah, as long as she’s there, I’ll continue to go see her!

***Consultation Review *** I had a consultation at the Gillian Institute for a breast augmentation, and unfortunately my experience was not positive. First, getting to the location was confusing. The office is tucked away in a cul-de-sac and the setting felt unusual for a medical practice. After driving over two hours and taking a half day off work to attend the appointment, I was already a little uneasy when I arrived. Once inside, the office itself appeared quite outdated and poorly maintained. The furniture in the waiting and consultation areas looked old and stained. In the exam room, the only place available for me to sit was a leather couch with the upholstery peeling badly. Overall, the environment felt worn down and not what I expected from a medical practice, especially one specializing in cosmetic procedures. The assistant who came in before the doctor did not seem very engaged or professional. She avoided eye contact and didn’t appear particularly knowledgeable or prepared to answer questions, which made the experience feel uncomfortable. The doctor then came in and spent only about five minutes with me. During that time, she told me she would only perform the procedure using an under-the-breast incision. I was surprised by how quickly the consultation ended and felt like there wasn’t much discussion about options or what might work best for my body. After the consultation the front desk seemed a little pushy to get payment and scheduling going. Ultimately, I decided to seek another opinion. I later had the procedure done by a different surgeon (out of state) and had a very thorough consultation and fantastic results. Because of the condition of the office, the brief consultation, and the overall experience, this practice just wasn’t the right fit for me.

I had rhinoplasty & a lip lift procedure performed by Dr. Lewis back in 2023 and my results were horrible I had to get a revision this year performed by a more qualified surgeon. Dr. Lewis somehow managed to make my nose appear bigger, something I didn’t think was possible with rhinoplasty. The surgeon who performed the revision said the tip of my nose was “poorly shaped” and had a lot of scar tissue due to poor technique which led to my nose appearing bigger. The scar under my nose from the lip lift healed horrendously. It is thick, wide, and noticeable. I had to get steroid injections at a different location. Not only were the results horrible, but so was the post op care. Dr. Lewis didn’t see me once, not even a single time after he performed surgery and I was told I needed to drive to Ohio if I wanted post op care, even though I had my surgery done at The Gillian Institute in Indiana. He also put in a new right breast implant due to encapsulation and that same breast is now encapsulated again 3 years later and sits crooked in comparison to my left breast. My right breast is situated lower than the left. Everything about my experience here was awful. If there is 1 positive about this facility, it’s Jackie. She cares and goes above and beyond. In response to your reply: I felt a sense of embarrassment for you as I read your response. Dr. Short never saw me for my consult and never once said that she felt she couldn’t achieve a smaller look. I had my rhinoplasty revision 4.5 weeks ago and even with the post op swelling my nose now appears smaller with the swelling than it did fully healed after my initial rhinoplasty with Dr. Lewis. Just because Dr. Lewis is no longer at The Gillian Institute now doesn’t mean that the facility has zero accountability. It was a surgery that was done at The Gillian Institute therefore the facility has responsibility for their patient. It wasn’t until I had my revision last month with a different surgeon at a different facility that I realized just how bad the post op care was at The Gillian Institute and why I decided to leave this review. The post op care I received last month was a completely different, better experience. I had no idea just how badly my care was neglected until I went somewhere else. In response to my breasts, after Dr. Lewis performed my surgery I did see Dr. Short 1 single time within the following weeks (since Dr. Lewis essentially refused to see me) and I did express my concern for the asymmetry. I was told the breast would settle into the correct position over time. I also expressed my concern for the way my lip lift scar was healing and I was essentially gas lit and told I was just overreacting. Again, I never left a review until now because after going somewhere else it opened my eyes even more to how poorly I was treated. Your response makes it clear you’re more concerned about a good rating and review than the experience of the patient.

The staff was friendly and very knowledgeable and helpful inside and outside of the facility when I needed to call them with questions. They did a fantastic job on my breast augmentation! I have recommended Dr Short to friends and will continue to do so.

Jackie was my provider during my visit. She went out of her way to make me feel comfortable and she explained everything before she did it. This is my second experience at Gillian and I will continue to go back to them in the future!
