Five Journeys

Dr. Trubow has been my primary care doctor and OB/GYN for several years and is kind, caring, and an expert listener. I appreciate the functional medicine approach and the patient-focused care. While my chronic health conditions do not have easy answers or straightforward solutions, I always feel supported by her and her team. I have had great experiences with both in-person and virtual appointments. Dr. Trubow always provides referrals and orders tests when needed and I have appointments with her regularly. The Five Journeys administrative staff are also prompt and extremely helpful. They respond quickly to my questions and help process paperwork. Five Journeys offers a number of other health-related services (many which are unfortunately not covered by health insurance, like supplements and wellness IVs). I have had great experiences with Maren when she administered IVs for me in the past. They are clear about the costs involved if you ask and have recommended other options when I have indicated something is outside my ability or budget. Five Journeys is a membership-based practice, so there is a monthly cost (as listed on their website), which is separate from health insurance and billing. I recognize it is a privilege to afford the type of patient care that, in a world with a better medical system, everyone should have access to. Given my chronic health conditions and the stretched medical system, this cost has been well-worth it to me to have the fantastic level of care and response times that Five Journeys provides.

Very frustrating. I was a patient up until 1/5/2026. My provider wrote a prescription for a glucose monitor that same day and sent to CVS. CVS came back and said they needed a prior authorization. Five Journeys won't write the prior auth because I am no longer a patient even though the prescription was written when I was a patient. I told the office that the plan was for me to be a patient again in March but since they are holding my prior auth hostage I will not come back now. When I told that to the person I spoke with at the office she did not care and just said "OK". Do not recommend this practice. ****Update: my response to the office’s reply: concerning your statement “When a patient is no longer under our care, there are strict legal and regulatory guidelines that limit what we are able to do on their behalf. Prior authorizations are considered an active part of ongoing medical management, and once a patient relationship has formally ended, most medical practices are not permitted to initiate or complete new authorizations” ...please point me to the documents that show the regulatory guidelines you say limit your ability. I await your response. Thank you.

Dr. Levitan is incredibly knowledgeable and has helped me regain my health after long Covid. After having a fever and post exertional malaise for five months, I am now, again, able to function in life and walk my dog for 40 minutes daily. I am extremely grateful!!

Dr. Levitan at Five Journeys is an exceptional medical doctor practicing integrated medicine. He thoughtfully brings together the best of Eastern and Western approaches. When I came to him, I was struggling with my health and feeling frustrated by the lack of clarity around next steps. From the very beginning, he earned my trust by being kind, patient, and straightforward, guiding me through testing and helping me clearly understand the results. My health has been restored, and I feel terrific. I cannot recommend Dr. Levitan highly enough.

As a parent of a child with autism and DMDD, it can be incredibly hard to find a doctor who truly listens and looks beyond the surface. Dr. Levitan did exactly that. He was extremely thorough with labs and provided clear, actionable guidance that has already helped improve my son’s mood. We feel hopeful and supported for the first time in a long time. I can’t recommend him enough.
