I went to get special eye tests done at the UofL Eye Institute. After that I stopped by the cafeteria in the basement. I got the cheeseburger and curly fries. They were hot and cooked perfectly. The staff was extremely helpful and highly attentive. It's always a great day when I can stop in and get some great food.

Hi, Dr. Daccarett, I was wondering about how to contact you when I received this note from your office requesting feedback. My husband and I were driving from northern Indiana to visit our son and daughter-in-law in southern Mississippi for the holidays. She is in Medical School in Hattiesburg and our son works in insurance. I am recently retired from educational administration as an elementary principal. We were about an hour south of Louisville on I65 when we stopped for a restroom break, and I fell: hit my head and had a gash from a concrete banister, and most importantly, broke my hip. This was on my right side where I already had nerve damage from previous cancer treatments. My cancer is fully gone for over 1 1/2 years since several surgeries to remove lesions from my liver and colon. I was amazed when I woke up on Christmas Eve after recovery from hip surgery. I knew from previously having had a great knee joint replacement, that my hip surgeon had been highly skilled. I was not in any pain, or very little. Of course, I know the hip joint is weight bearing, so I could walk right away, but while I was tired, I was in great shape. I came home on December 26th, and I went online to read about my surgeon. I discovered I had been blessed to have one of the top hip surgeons in the nation (which I had already realized). I had been on a long journey for my family’s sake and had been truly blessed to land at a great hospital with an amazing hip surgeon, and his great team. I can’t say enough about the quality of my surgical experience. I told anyone and everyone at the hospital how great my surgery was. A huge thank you to my prep team, my anesthesiologist and the surgical nurses, along with my amazing surgeon. My only regret is that I did not have the opportunity to meet you in person. I believe my anesthesiologist put me out quickly because prior to surgery, I was in extreme pain due to my hip fracture. I understood, because it was the holiday, and I am not privy to a surgeon’s schedule. There was, of course, two different medical students who came to see me on each of the two mornings I was there. I was doing great, so no problem. I completely understood. I just wanted to say thank you, thank you. You have dedicated your life to becoming one of the best surgeons in your specialty areas. I just wanted you to know your skills have meant the world to me. I will have such a greater quality of life due to you. May God bless you and your family, Pamela Kaylor
I arrived at the hospital today at 8 a.m. after flying in from California, experiencing difficulty breathing. There was another Middle Eastern individual ahead of me in line. At the time, I also had a fever, cough, and severe breathing issues. Despite this, a Black woman and a white woman were admitted before both myself and the Middle Eastern couple. When I asked the front desk receptionist (a Black woman) about the delay, I was told that patients were being admitted based on the severity of their condition. Frustrated and still struggling to breathe, I left and went directly to Baptist Health Emergency Room, where I was promptly admitted and diagnosed with COVID. Thanks to their swift and professional care, I’m now receiving the treatment I need. I will never return to this hospital again.
EDIT TO ADD....... I asked them for an hour window for my ride to arrive. They came in and woke me up and said I had to leave. Then didn't send all my meds and gave me a different med. I was very pleased with my experience besides a LPN in the ER and today's nurse. They were very rude and had thr worst bedside manor. After spending 4.5 hours at Hardin Memorial hospital and getting no where they transferred me to UofL. Hands down thr best service. Jerred is amazing. He searched for a fan because my room is warm. They also went above and beyond by giving me a single room. Thank you UofL for holding high standards for health care. I am on the road to recovery after surgery to repair my eye lid
I had an 8 day stay in the brand new tower 3 post op and it was a very nice room. Most of the nurses were great. I have to mention two specifically , the wonderful Ms. Jordan LPN and the wonderful Mr. Phillip RN. They went above and beyond for their patients.
