Idaho Bariatric and Metabolic Institute

While visiting Idaho, I had an emergency and went to the ER in Meridian. I was treated by Dr. Brown and was so impressed with him and how accomadating he was. He helped me get well fast enough to still take my vacation a week later! Needing a follow-up appointment after leaving Idaho, his staff was excellent at getting me in via Telehealth to see him same day. He remembered me from the hospital and was very kind. Excellent experience!

The Good: *Clean office space *Friendly Medical Assistants and Staff *Passionate for what they do The ?: *The medical office does not have anything indicating the BMI institute was in the surgical center. *Felt like I was just another patient getting a "sales pitch". Vibe was "I don't really care about you, your jorueny or your medical history (because I wasn't really asked about it!)... let's do __________." *My insurance covered my consult, but it wasn't until after meeting the doctor that I learned my insurance does not have bariatric coverage. Would not have gone to consult had I know insurance coverage wasn't an option (this may be partially on me), especially since I require overnight observation after most proceedures. A phone call about thay before would have been really nice. Full disclosure - I was looking at options and information instead of committing to treatment at this visit. If I pursue this route, I will be visiting other providers.

During my gastric sleeve procedure, Dr. Brown and his team found and fixed my hernia (that I did not know I had) for no extra charge. The price I was quoted was the price I paid. Before the surgery I met with Dr. Brown and his team who took the time to answer questions, give advice and explain the financial aspects of the procedure. In the months that followed I met several other patience who all had great results with Dr. Brown and the team. My husband and I both highly recommend Dr. Brown and IBM staff.

The surgery was easy. I had relatively very little pain afterwards. I couldn’t recommend this more. Dr Brown and his team took great care of me and it has been life-changing!

I have recommended Dr. Brown to several people I know for weight loss surgery. Dr. Brown and Kate are fantastic, professional, understanding and care greatly about their patients. I had the gastric sleeve done a little over 4 years ago. Following every step of their direction I lost around 120lbs within the first 6 months and was able to reach my goal weight and more. I started around 248lbs and hit my goal of 120lbs. It has forever changed my life. I am able to be so much more active in life and not have to be so subconscious about the way I look all the time. I would also like to give high praise to the staff that works at the office whom go above and beyond for their patients. I am still maintaining 125lbs to 130lbs where I feel healthy and the happy.
