Saint Francis Hospital

My daughter recently had a minor procedure for excision of a sebaceous cyst at Saint Francis Hospital, Evanston, performed by Dr. Dean Krist. I cannot express enough how grateful we are for the outstanding care we received. Before the procedure, my daughter was very anxious, and as a mother of daughters, I was extremely worried as well. However, from the moment we arrived, Dr. Krist and his entire staff treated my daughter with such kindness, patience, and professionalism that all our fears were put at ease. Dr. Krist explained everything clearly and thoroughly, answered all our questions, and made sure my daughter felt comfortable and confident. The staff was equally supportive, gentle, and reassuring throughout the entire process. When my daughter came out of the procedure, she was genuinely happy and relieved, which meant the world to us. This speaks volumes about the care, compassion, and expertise of Dr. Krist and his team. I highly recommend Dr. Dean Krist and the entire staff at Saint Francis Hospital, Evanston, for their exceptional medical care and human touch. Thank you for taking such wonderful care of my daughter.

I have used St Francis as my community hospital for years. My husband had a terminal illness and was treated by SF perfectly, no problems at any point. My mother broker her hip at my house and Ambulance took her there. Surgical physician was outstanding and continued follow up care, seamless. Additionally, I have gone through the ER for kitchen cuts needing stitchers and other emergent issues and I have been treated by all levels of healthcare staff professionally. Always smiling, helpful and responsive. I was just there recently for abdominal pain and the team was coordinated, efficient, kind and knowledgeable. I will continue to utilize the healthcare services at SF.

I had a strangulated inguinal hernia. My bowel had popped through a hole and was incarcerated. I was in excruciating pain. After a cat scan a Dr A Montgomery showed up in a room adjacent to the emergency room. She explained to me that she could push the bowel back in and save me two surgeries, one to remove the dead bowel tissue, the other to repair my hernia. I told her to proceed. As she began pushing, the pain got even worse. This was after being given morphine, but once she pushed it back in, the pain instantly stopped. I can’t begin to express my gratitude to her for saving me an extra surgery and to Dr Gruner for repairing my hernia. Everyone was wonderful who crossed my path as well. Also, I was amazed at how fast the response was to my medical emergency in the emergency room.

Nursing staff great from Michael in ER to Ren, Keith, Soya and Tess - sorry if i left anyone out. Juana in housekeeping was great. All testing people were great also. Thanks for everything - hope not to see you for awhile. Dean

Ii remember this hospital in the 80s , was number 1 in The Chicago Area if you had any heart issues, with the best heart Specialist working there, then all that dissapear and become one of the worst about service with the patients, the heart specialist start leaving the hospital and become a place that if you had an emergency, you don't want to be taken there. Doctors and nurses working there will say that. Now I heard that new owners are taken over and because I live in the neighbourhood I went there for some testing and so far so good. Few weeks ago I end out on their emergency room and I was not expecting the great service I received from Doctors and their staff,f Few changes were already visible, the widespread apathy among hospital staff , suggest that the new hospital administration cares.
